The Respondus Lockdown Browser is a custom web browser for taking tests in Brightspace Respondus Lockdown Browser prevents students from copying, pasting, taking screen captures, using instant messaging programs, accessing other applications, or accessing other websites.
Some courses will require that you use the Respondus Lockdown Browser for your exams in Brightspace. You will need to download and install this browser and use it to access Brightspace to take the exam. This webpage will provide you with basic information for using the Respondus Lockdown Browser.
Students will need to download and install Respondus LockDown Browser on their own computer to use it. Repondus can be downloaded from any Respondus enabled test. Respondus is compatible with Windows and Mac computers, and can also be used on an iPad via the Respondus iPad app. Chromebooks are not supported by Respondus.

Note: Most public computer labs at SMCC have Respondus installed. If you find a PC that does not have Respondus loaded, please email the IT help desk to ask them to install Respondus.
